Envy & Gratitude

Envy & Gratitude

Envy is the evil eye—wanting to destroy what someone else has because you want it so badly. It comes from deep childhood fears of scarcity, of not having enough love or care. The parable teaches something radical: there is enough to go around. When the last workers receive a full day’s wage for one hour’s work, the early workers rage. But they got exactly what was promised. Their agreement was honoured. The landowner’s generosity to latecomers doesn’t diminish what others received. Like a parent’s love expanding for each child, God’s abundance isn’t a fixed pie. Everyone has enough. Stop looking with the evil eye. There’s more than you think.
