Thankyou JMA collectors!
Hounslow’s JMA Service at the beginning of September was a great way to begin a new term! It was really well attended by JMA collectors, families and friends which was wonderful. Some of the children participated brilliantly in the service. During the service awards were presented to the collectors and the grand total of donations last year was announced – an amazing total of £988.83!
Summer fun with the Gujarati Fellowship
On 9th August, the Gujarati Fellowship came together for a joyful day out at Hastings Beach. It was a blessed time of fellowship, laughter, and togetherness, reminding us of the joy of being one family in Christ. The day began and ended with thanksgiving, praise, worship, and prayer at the Church. We thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful day. From 15th to 17th August, they gathered for the Family Camp at a camping site near Melton Mowbray. …
A Day of Celebration! New members and baptisms at Hounslow
August 3rd was a very special day in the life of Bell Road. In the morning we welcomed 4 members by transfer from other churches. In the afternoon during the Gujarati Fellowship service we were really delighted to welcome a further 25 members by confirmation. What a day of welcome and celebration! It was a ‘first’ too as we witnessed the first baptisms by full immersion that we think have ever taken place at Bell Road. We were grateful to…
Christmas at Cafe together
Café Together once again put on a Christmas Dinner for our guests on the Thursday before Christmas and what a good evening it was! Christmas dinner with all the trimmings was served, crackers pulled , carols and songs sung and a quiz was enjoyed. We have heard from some guests since that this was their highlight of the Christmas season.
Christmas 2024
Our theme this Advent and Christmas was ‘Let there be Light’ , so it was appropriate that the church was decorated with lots of lights radiating out from the cross and around the church, creating a bright, yet homely and welcoming feel. Each week we explored one of the traditional Advent themes, with services entitled Let there be Hope, Let there be Peace, Let there be Love and Let there be Joy, concluding with Let there be Light on Christmas Day. These…
Christmas with the Bell Road Band III
We had a good crowd for the Christmas gig with the Bell Road Band. The stage set (and church Christmas decorations) took on a new look with luminous Christmas trees providing a bright and colourful front. The gig was in two halves. In the first half the Band shared some old and new versions of carols and Christmas songs including a jaunty version of ‘O Come all ye Faithful’ and ‘What Child is this’ as well as some modern songs, including…
Exploring Racial Justice at the London Synod
The September Synod remembered the anniversary of Stephen Lawrence’s death and the 75th Windrush anniversary by exploring racial justice as a theme. It was a really good day, interesting and thought provoking. In the morning we had two keynote speakers: Dr. Lisa Adjei, British Church Relations Manager at Christian Aid and Leader of Sankofa CollectiveLisa reminded us that it is 30 years since the murder of Stephen Lawrence and there was still much to be done. She based her thoughts…
