News reports earlier in September highlighted that food supplies in the refugee camp at Calais were running very low. During the London District Synod a week ago an appeal was made by Rev David Hardman for Methodists in the London District to be a people of action and prayerfully respond to the needs of people in our world.
Synod responded and the request has gone to all churches to join in making a collection of food. Donations will be collected from each circuit and then sent out to Calais. This is an urgent need and a quick response is called for. This is an urgent need and a quick response is called for. At Bell Road we will be collecting food on the next two Sundays (September 24th & October 2nd ).
The request is for specific items of food only so please only send in items that are on the list. Tins should have ring pulls, and everything must be in date.
Please be generous.
Please pray for the refugees in the camps at Calais, the authorities, the aid workers and all affected in any way. Pray too for those in our district who are organising this appeal.
